Privacy Policy for BraveSave

This Privacy Policy describes how Igor Aherne ("we", "us", or "the developer") handles information in connection with the game BraveSave (the "Game") on Android devices. By installing or playing the Game, you agree to the practices described below.

1. Summary

BraveSave is a single-player game. The developer does not run any account, save-sync, or social-feature server, and your gameplay save data stays on your device. The Game makes the following outbound connections: (a) a small anonymous version-check ping on launch; (b) the Google Play Billing flow when you choose to make an in-app purchase; and (c) Unity Analytics, which collects anonymous gameplay and diagnostic statistics to help us improve the Game. Unity Analytics only starts after you accept this Privacy Policy on first launch — see Section 6 for details.

2. Information We Do Not Collect

To be explicit, BraveSave does not:

Require an account, login, nickname, email, or password;
Upload your gameplay save data, inventory, or character progress to any developer-operated server;
Maintain an online leaderboard or social features;
Synchronise saves across devices via a developer-operated cloud service;
Display advertisements or share data with advertising partners;
Collect your contacts, photos, microphone audio, or precise (GPS-level) location.

3. Local Data on Your Device

The Game stores your progress (gold, gems, ability upgrades, scene completion, settings, tutorial state, and the version of this Privacy Policy you have accepted) locally on your device using Android's standard application storage (PlayerPrefs). This data does not leave your device through anything the Game does. If you uninstall the Game, Android removes this data along with the application.

4. Version-Check Ping

When the Game launches, it makes a single anonymous HTTPS request to whaleride.com to check whether a newer version of the Game is available. The request body contains no personal data; only the standard information any web request includes (your device's IP address and the request itself) reaches the server. The server responds with a short text string indicating the current published version. We do not log, profile, or correlate IP addresses for marketing or tracking purposes; server logs are used only for diagnosing connectivity issues.

5. In-App Purchases

The Game offers optional in-app purchases (consumable gold and gem packs). These purchases are processed entirely by Google Play Billing. When you make a purchase:

Your payment details (card number, billing address, etc.) are handled by Google. The developer never sees them.
Google Play notifies the Game that a purchase succeeded and provides a product identifier and transaction token. The Game uses this only to grant the purchased item inside the Game.
Google Play's handling of your payment information is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.

6. Unity Analytics

Once you accept this Privacy Policy, the Game uses Unity Analytics, provided by Unity Technologies, to collect anonymous information that helps us understand how the Game performs and how players engage with it. Unity Analytics is dormant until you accept the policy — no events are sent before that.

What Unity Analytics collects:

An anonymous install identifier and the Android Advertising ID (where available);
Device model, operating system version, Game version, language, and approximate country (derived from IP address — not precise location);
App lifecycle events: session start/end, session length, crashes, and performance metrics;
Standard Unity-provided gameplay events (e.g. scene completion, item used).

What Unity Analytics does not collect:

Your name, email, or any account information (the Game has no accounts);
Your contacts, photos, files, microphone audio, or precise location;
The contents of your save game or what you have purchased.

Unity acts as a service provider processing this data on our behalf. Their handling is governed by the Unity Game Player and App User Privacy Policy.

Your choices: If you wish to revoke your consent and delete the analytics data associated with your install, contact us using the address in Section 10 and we will issue a deletion request to Unity. You can also uninstall the Game, which removes all local data; reinstalling will re-prompt this Privacy Policy and you can choose not to accept.

7. Information Handled by Google Play

Independently of the Game's own behaviour, the Google Play Store platform may collect information about app installs, crashes, and aggregate usage to provide services such as Android Vitals and app integrity protection. This collection is performed by Google as the platform operator and is governed by the Google Privacy Policy. The developer may receive aggregated, non-identifying reports (such as crash counts and stack traces, install counts, and uninstall counts) through the Google Play Console, but does not receive personal information about individual users through this channel.

8. Children's Privacy

The Game does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. The Game is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction).

9. Changes to This Policy

If the Game's behaviour ever changes — for example, if a future version adds online accounts, save sync, social features, or advertising — this Privacy Policy will be updated to reflect that, and the "Last updated" date above will change. The Game will also prompt you to re-accept the updated policy on next launch. Continued use of the Game after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
